Broken+5v supply on Amiga 2000 joystick ports
Hi,
I have done something I know i shouldn't do with the amiga powered on plug in a joystick ![]() |

Plugging in a joystick in itself shouldn't cause damage like that unless they have metal shields on the plugs (which appear to be a rarity). Older mice on the other hand tend to have metal shells, and can easily short out the +5V by inserting them at an angle.
Yep, they do share a common fuse, it should be easy enough to replace. If you can't find a fuse, a 4.7 ohm resistor will do the trick. A 2W resistor will do for the most part - it will burn out if the 5V line is shorted again for more than a moment, but it should be able to take an accidental touch without frying. |
