It'd be really nice if all the Sound\Video dyssinchronising in AviOut were fixed too, it's a major problem for attempting to record Videos.
Being able to record in one resolution and output on another would be nice. Perhaps people could even run on 800x600 yet output video on 320x256x8, for instance. |

I really the behaviour i'm getting was more ordained so as to not insert a bunch of random hard to replicate events, but unfortunately as far as sound and video synchronization goes that's pretty much the way it goes. It happens both with both "Disable Frame Limit" on or off. It's very random. I've actually managed to grab one video that was A-Ok. But for the most part it either starts unsynchronised and stays so, or it starts ok, and progressively degenerates. With Disable Frame Limit on it seems to start unsync'ed and stay so. With it off (frame limit turned on) it seems to start ok and degenerate. It's hard to know if this happens because the encoding can't happen fast enough, but theoretically that shouldn't be the case, right? It should only slow down the game play. Here's my WinuaeBootlog attached, plus the config used for Outputing. I use the Sound encoder on PCM and DivX encoding, to keep it light on the CPU, although i'm on a 2.6gigs with 512megs. Tried everything by now... codecs, settings, screen sizes, sound settings. No go. |

I need full winuaelog.txt, including all "AVIOutput: diff=xx skip=xx"-messages.

Thanks.
Hmm.. This shouldn't happen. For some unexplained reason video and audio gets out of sync really quickly, too quickly for compensation system to keep them in sync. AVIOutput: diff=-16.88 skip=-20.00 AVIOutput: diff=-21.44 skip=-20.00 AVIOutput: diff=-26.00 skip=-20.00 AVIOutput: diff=-30.81 skip=-20.00 AVIOutput: diff=-35.38 skip=-20.00 diff should stay close to zero but in your log it just keeps growing.. |

Does it work better if you set lag compensation slider (in sound panel) to zero?

Well, it looks (sounds) flawless now.
I'll make bigger recordings to make sure it doesn't degenerate over time. In case all's ok. Let me then also state that it'be nice if the "Disable Frame Limit" would be saved together in the config file, if possible. The AviOutput button also looks a bit sticky... it's hard to know when its on or off. Sometimes it seems like you turned it off and it's actually still on. I'm using XP so when i over over it it bevels out making it look "off" (perhaps the button could toggle in text "AviOut Enabled"\"AviOutDisabled".) |

I am not sure if I can make lag adjustment compatible with recording but at least I can disable it while recording.. Quote:

I've had sync problems if Disable framerate limit is unchecked (that is, when you hear sound during recording). When it's checked (and there's no sound available during recording), the a/v sync is quite good (last time it was 50fps for video, 49.994fps for audio).
EDIT: I'll try to have log files for you tomorrow. Last edited by Boulder; 11 June 2006 at 22:04. |

Yes, the problem remains in fullscreen as well.
