UK based supplier for DD Disks?

Hi all,

Apologies as this has probably been asked before, but cant find anything in the search.

Ive got hundreds of brand new HD floppy disks, but getting mixed results when using them with my A1200. Therefore, I pref want to use DD disks instead.

Does anyone know anywhere that sells them new in the UK? I dont think amigastuff sells them anymore.

Cheers

Just a thought , I started to read the thread linked to , it said about HD disks are "stronger formatted " , so presumably they use a higher powered field which can cause issues when formatted on an Amiga DD.

What about if you "erase" them in an old school bulk eraser as used by video companies ?

Or do floppies have some sort of master file system ,track, timing thingy ?

Just a thought !

If you bulk erase the HD disks, they will be more reliable when used in a DD drive.

Still no replacement for true DDs. ;-)

Regular floppies (non-floptical, non-ls120) don't have any manufacturer data on the media, the lowlevel and highlevel format happens at the same time when you format them.
