A couple questions about WinUAE settings...
Hi, some of you might have read my other thread where I discovered a work-around to a problem by changing the RTG display mode from "full screen" to "full windowed".
Visually, there doesn't appear to be any difference. But I'm wondering why the two options exist. Is there some advantage or disadvantage in choosing one mode over the other? Also, in the DISPLAY settings there is a "Resolution Autoswitch" checkbox. Is there any advantage to enabling that? What does it do? Thanks. Last edited by ral-clan; 18 April 2011 at 05:08. |

Full-window = opens always on top borderless window that covers whole desktop, using desktop resolution. Main advantage is lack of resolution switch delay.
Full-screen = "real" full screen mode. Main advantage: any mode available, refresh rates can be changed. (which are usually not needed in RTG modes) Resolution switching is not used in RTG modes. |

QuarkTex windows work a lot better in Full-window mode - as long as the desktop and WB resolution is the same. (The mouse pointer will no longer mess up the window contents)
