Fernandez Must Die, what copy protection?
Is Fernandez Must Die copy protected?
I have a copy that appears duplicated, all tracks are index aligned but HxC shows show no obvious copy protection? It's an Imageworks game and they normally used Copylock but there is no Copylock track, not even the GAP type protection Rob Northen created so were some copies not protected? |

IIRC a protection was present because I still remember that copying it back then was not working it was a poor protection but still one.

Really, no protection? So what was 'Cracked' in the A-HA / LSD versions? Wonder if Galahad can clarify if those versions were really 'cracked'?
Thanks for the IPF A plain ADF made from the original dump loads in WinUAE and let's you play, unless there is a check later in the game? |

Note also that it's a pure 100% shite ST port, and that the whdload installer specify no protection removed. |

The thing I remember is once copied the game crashed. We traced the code until a call to an Amiga function that was crashing, I remember that it was an unusual call as A6 was not used as it is the way of doing it. One parameter was wrong that lead to the crash IIRC or we just changed the register back to A6 with the right pointer once corrected the game was running OK. We also take the loading screen which was an Atari format and loaded it in the ST where we put a kind of crack text and we were proud.
