Yes, i made good progress recently and have focused on the command line imager tool. Currently it contains following features:
- Create image files.
- Initialize Rigid Disk Block.
- Add file systems from existing .adf, .hdf or from file.
- Add partitions
- Format partitions with DOS\3, PFS\3 and PDS\3 file systems.
- Script support.

I going to release a beta of the command line imager as soon as possible with the build pipeline is updated to include this.

I have been working on and off on Hst Imager console (previously HstWB Imager) which now supports Master Boot Records and Rigid Disk Blocks.

It can now create blank image files (.img/.vhd), initialize new MBR and RDB, add file systems for RDB, add partitions and format partitions.

It can even create the previously mentioned hybrid hard disk image file with both MBR and RDB, so it can use part of the disk with a FAT32 formatted partition. When the hybrid disk is written to a CF-card, the Amiga can see RDB and MBR/FAT32 partition using fat95 and when attached via USB to PC/Mac, the FAT32 partition can be used for file transfering.

As an example, first attached image, shows following commands:
- Create new blank 4gb image file. Note it uses .vhd image format!
- Initialize new empty Rigid Disk Block.
- Add pfs3aio file system with DOS type PDS3.
- Add DH0 partition of 300MB using PDS3 DOS type and is bootable.
- Add DH1 partition of remaining disk space (~3,5GB) using PDS3 DOS type.
- Format partition 1 (DH0) with volume name "Workbench".
- Format partition 2 (DH1) with volume name "Work".

Following attached images show WinUAE, where I have added the created hardfile 4gb.vhd, booted into Amiga OS from floppy disk and have opened disks to show their size from Workbench and show info in Shell.

Note that it's a beta/prerelease and still in development, but it's very functional in it's current version.

Try it out and for installation og usage see https://github.com/henrikstengaard/h...imager-console. It's standalone and works as single file/executable and doesn't require any additional files installed. Just extract and run.

Hst Imager v1.0 is now released. Gui version allows users to read and write disk images, create blank disk images. Console version has additional features like partitioning, formatting and copying files between local directories, disk images and physical drives.

For Amiga it can create disk image with Rigid Disk Block partition table for Amiga, add partitions and format them with PFS3, PDS3 or DOS0-7 dostype without having to start an Amiga emulator. Further more it can copy files from local directories directly into the disk image partitions and extract .lha, .lzx and .zip directly into the disk image partitions and also physical drive partitions. It comes with example scripts than installs AmigaOS 3.1 and 3.2, extract WHDLoads and conversion of WHDLoad .lha to a disk image.

All of this is shown in YouTube video (1h:44m duration)
[ Show youtube player ] and can be downloaded from https://github.com/henrikstengaard/hst-imager/releases. More info about Hst Imager at github https://github.com/henrikstengaard/hst-imager.

Maybe you find it useful .

Amazing work! I could only hope to get Hst-Imager as an addon for Total Commander to handle files in the future. One thing i couldn't figure out was if you are able to use the dynamic vhd file and the write it to a CF card directly or do you have to convert it first?
