A3000 odd floppy disk drive problem

Hi:
I have an A3000 with one internal Floppy Drive (plus HD, jaz, usb etc..). Yesterday i tried to use 2 differente external floppy drives and i always got the same result. An icon on the Workbench Screen, something like ??Df2: not working, or something similar.

I tested both units on my A4000 and they were correctly recognized and worked without any problems.

After that i checked the internal floopy cable, it's one with a twisted part for using 2 internal floppy drives.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

BEst Regards

Rod

Diskchange detection is probably always on? Try inserting a disk and then saying diskchange df2: in a shell / execute requester.

Hi:
remember that the external drive should be df1: and not df2: That is one of the strange things.
Best Regards

For big box amigas, DF2 is the first external drive.

If you're connecting an internal drive, DF0 is connected to the middle connector of the cable, DF1 is connected to the connector after the twist.
