Amiga Shops Still Alive?
Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum section, but I need a little bit of advice.
I have attempted to order from AmigaKit and the Software Hut and on both occasions, it seems like there is no one behind these web shops. The strange thing is, AmigaKit has actually billed my credit card, but is not responding to my e-mails or sales requests Are any of these shops still alive, or am I just wasting my time? Regards, Dr.Mabuse |

Amigakit is real. You are down under so an order will take weeks to reach you.

Software Hut is basically dead, don't bother trying to order anything from them.
AmigaKit are solid. |

I just haven't heard a thing since the order was placed, and I'm used to dealing with places like ebay or amazon where you are informed if something was shipped or not...
I guess I'll be patient with AmigaKit then :-) Anyway, thanks for your input guys. |

-they get you order out of the system, -then another wheh a guy is assigned the task of filling the order -then another when the guy fills the order -then another when they finally send it. Perhaps you ordered something that wasn't in stock? Normally about 2 weeks from clicking buy to stuff in your letter box. |

Aren't normally items that are out of stock unavailable to order or not among the list listed?

It's typical for AmigaKit to take a couple of weeks just to dispatch the items even if all of them are in stock.

@hese, that is total BS.
Amigakit generally ship the same day. If there is no stock, they email you.. Did the OP raise a support ticket through the Amigakit site? Emails are notorious for getting spam binned. |

@Dr.Mabuse
Thanks for your order. Once an order is placed you can ask questions about it using our Support Ticket system: www.amigakit.com/support If you send an email to noreply[at]amigakit.com it will not be seen by us. Also if you send a Support email to the Sales mailbox by mistake you will get an auto response back with the correct Support Ticket web address as above. Our stock level of any product is shown in real time on the webstore. Most products are sent out within a day or two. If an item needs to be made by our technician, it can take longer. You can check your order status and get information for your order at any time by logging into your account on our website. Goto Order History section and click View button next to the order. Hope this helps. Last edited by amigakit.com; 20 February 2013 at 09:43. |

Wasn't there an Australian based online Amiga shop based in Sydney that carried a small range of items?
Unfortunately i can't remember the name and cannot seem to find it on the net anymore, but i think Cammy might know of it! |

Last time I bought something it took AK 7 days to ship it so yes the "2 weeks" mentioned is an exaggeration but they can be a touch slow at times.

I have never dealt with him so i wouldn't know, but that certainly doesn't sound like a good service, also i just saw this on his AmigaManiacs contact page- "Sorry everyone, I've had to delete yet another webmail account as some lovely person has been inserting my e-mail address as the return path for mass spamming :-S I'll set up another e-mail address and post it here once I've completed all the back orders. *If you are still waiting for your order, I will e-mail you shortly, after which you will have my new e-mail address ;-)" And his website has not been updated since 30/8/2012! |

They had all the items in stock but still it took two weeks to get the items shipped. And nothing needed to build or test. If you get shipments much faster then good for you but that hasn't happened to me. |
