Running 'Newer' Amiga Software (Esp. Demos) Made During the Late 90's & Onwards

If you take a look at http://www.filewatcher.com/b/ftp/ftp...eleases-0.html you'll notice several Amiga scene releases made between 2001 and 2009. The archives seem to mostly contain files with no extensions and some files with the .exe extension. Once uploaded to Virus Total, the 'Magic Literal' of many of those files seems to be "AmigaOS loadseg()ble executable/binary" and some of them have the 'TrID' "Amiga Kickstart 1.x generic commands and executables". At least the first attribute suggests that the files should be run on AmigaOS... But how exactly? By firing up the shell and entering some command? Or with the help of some specific program? Furthermore, can they be run on AmiKit or AmigaSYS? The best scenario would be to be able to run those executables/binaries directly on WinUAE without having to install any extra stuff like an entire OS. Is that possible at all?

if they have no .info file they can be launched from cli from by just typing their name. If the file you try isn't an Amiga executable you'll get an error.

Otherwise you'd have to copy them to an adf and then add a text file called startup-sequence in a directory called s with the filename you need to run.

And to quote Wikipedia: "From release 2.0 onwards it is possible to enter a boot menu by holding down both mouse buttons at power on or reset. This allows the user to choose a boot device, set parameters for backwards compatibility and examine Autoconfig hardware." That's where the startup-sequnce can be disabled so that AmigaDOS can be accessed. Anyway, I'm no expert but there are probably several other methods of accessing AmigaDOS as well (in addition to this and the one you mentioned) – firing up the CLI in AmigaOS seems to be one of them.

in winuae you can configure a windows-folder as a harddrive. once done and you boot from it, you will see a cli window.
but since even demos require some systemlibraries ( math....library ) you should simply copy the content of a workbench disk into the new windows-hdd-folder.
workbench and kickstart version should fit, of course.
using ADFview (working with win7 too ) you can open adf files like a normal drawer, and copy things from adf to the hdd-folder.

Umm.. that thing seems to have quite outdated list.
I'd recommend you to use http://amiga.bbs.fi for current year's releases and http://amiga.bbs.fi/old/ for other years

They should be extracted to dirs in filesystem and run from the OS installation. Like any other software which isn't bootable floppy disk. The main exe is usually named similarly to archive or production name and it's quite easy to spot or guess. Many times it's the only non text file there.

You can run the exe from shell in OS, or shell if you've booted without startup-sequence (you should run setpatch command before running the demo then), or from Workbench (use show all files option from the pulldown menu)... or from any filemanager etc.
