WHDLoad CD32 Controller
Hi All,
Just wondered what controller people recommend to play WHDLoad CD32 games (on an A1200)? A CD32 controller is the obvious answer but they seem a little pricey and don't look that comfortable (although I've never tried one). Also, I've read that CD32 controllers have a special PIC so that you can't just use a 6 button megadrive controller or something similar... Cheers, SuperNashwan |

Hi!
The Honeybea CD32 Pad's are my choice of Weopan! They can be bought resonably priced if you avoid the high eBay BIN's! They come up time to time on Amibay and here too <£10 ![]() All the best, Steve. |

The original CD32 pads are rubbish. The Honeybee should be the 1st choice. |

It's the same as a Competition Pro just a different name, I've seen them sell at the figures you suggest but I've always bought them cheaper or better still included with a CD32 or other Amiga's

Are CD32 Pads that bad.
I still have my original Pad, mint condition and still working perfect. I love the CD32 Pad. |

I prefer original also. I can only use the comp pros for about 20mins before my hands start getting tired.

I'd love to have a stock CD32 joypad but they are very hard to find! |

I think there is nothing bad with original CD32 joypad, only Chaos Engine was hard to play.

The response of the buttons of a Honeybee is IMHO better. But what I really hate about CD32-pads is the awful directional pad.
(I've got 4 Honeybees and 2 CD32-pads, one "new") EDIT: BTW The Honeybee has got optional autofire (off, while holding a button or permanent autofire) for the 4 coloured buttons ![]() Last edited by mombasajoe; 31 May 2012 at 11:28. |

A few years ago I bought 2 brand new CD32 controllers at £10 a pop. The direction pad has come loose on both after <15h of playing Sensi. Now they just rotate wildly
![]() Good thing is that now I can hack them into the Arcade controllers I'm building for the Amiga ![]() |

I made the mistake of buying one of those Boomerang pads Amigakit are selling. Stiff is an interesting way to describe them. It has serious trouble trying to do directionals i.e up and left at the same time. It has a thumbstick which is ideal and halfway playable for something like Pinball Fantasies but horrid to use for other games becuase its so unresponsive, the idiot who designed this had probably never used a CD32 else they wouldnt have placed the 3 1/2 key (green) where they did. It renders Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix even more unplayable with this pad. I soldier on with an official CD32 joypad until i find a competition pro joypad to replace it. Would be nice if there was a rewire of a Megadrive style 6 button joypad into something half useful for us Amiga owners!
