Does anyone still run genuine BBS's out there?
As in REAL, not through the internet or Hyper terminal console...
I want to feel the squeal, the raw power of 28kbps and chatting with a live sysop ![]() Anyone else miss the old days? ![]() |

In this day and age, NOT telnetting is suicide.
Makes no sense man... Are you going to bluebox your way onto a foreign board, too? ![]() If you want to experience the pain of 28.800, just make a TCP SLIP bridge to your Amiga and limit it to 28800 BPS! |

I've contemplated getting a old dial-up modem and setting up a BBS. But mainly so I could play Populous or Super Skidmarks with other local Amiga gamers. So not really a BBS, although I would leave a selection of my recent tracked music available while I am not.
Anyway, unless at least one other Aussie Amiga user is interested then there's no point really. |

I wonder if there are any old warez Amiga BBSes still running nowadays?
![]() I recently tried to telnet for the first time to a foreign BBS as I was after an obscure DOS game demo, but after supposedly registering a nick on there, I got nowhere. Some gubbins about needing credits to download apparently. Thuck Fat! |

Yep what Don said...
Here ya go: Uzi Suicide - uzisuicide.servebbs.org Spatula City - spatulacity.servebbs.org Death Row - deathrow.servebbs.org All three of these boards have the speeds limited (needed to actually connect via telnet) so the look and feel is almost the same as the modem days. I use syncterm from my Mac to call them and DCTelnet from my A1200. |
