Topaz...
Yeah I admit that topaz is kinda boxy/ugly and has had a bad name for ages but when it comes to a clean neat square and small font for icons you a seriously limmited in your choice, sure I have hundreds of fonts in my fonts: dir but flicking through them time and time again I still find topaz does the cleanest job. If you notice every other font is diferent however.
Mmm nature, get back to nature. What would you prefer? Me to show you my old Pink Anime/Hentai theme? Or perhaps my satin sheet textured theme? I kept it clean for you guys. Besides forest backgrounds are relaxing. |

I suppose the pink hentai think was a stab to my Workbench .
I just found it curious! When I get time i'll make an abstract constructivist theme for you :P |

Nah not a stab.
Hrm actually I wasn't even thinking of your workbench when I said "Pink Hentai theme", I realy do have one, its rather nice, I even made some good difference cloud textures for it.
I have been swapping from anime to demo art to landscape/forest themes for years now. Right back when I was using 16 set colours for everything, MagicTV realy is a great patch for old aga systems, ofcourse it takes allot of effort to get it to look good with only 16 colours. |

Well.. I posted my WB showing Exoticons on another thread recently. But heres some grabs.
First from my a4000 and a slightly older a1200 one and finally a 16 colours one for use with magictv. and i think it looks quite ok for 16 cols... the wb on my a1200,a2000,a3000 and a500 are a bit boring currently.. not worth showing sorry for increasing the size of this already large page |

This is how my A600 HD Now looks like
NB This pic is from the emulated copy of my A600 as my HD is only 20MB not 512M as the pic shows. Last edited by Paul; 09 July 2002 at 10:43. |

Hrm...
Kewl A4k screen grab, I love Giger he kicked ass.
Is this an unexpanded A600 you want to improve? You realy need an old a630 with 8mb+ fast ram if you want to add eye candy, 2mb chip just doesn't cut it. Infact Having more than one HD partition and 80 buffers on it would almost be too much in 2mb chip to do anything. Ofcourse if you must do something then get yourself MultiCX and or MCP, They will do basic upgrades and use minimal memory. Also both give you screen blankers and other great things like black borders. My a500 with a floppy used a basic 4 colour rock backdrop that looked nice and munticx, it did the job. Ofcourse if you want to make your workbench look good and don't mind gray scale then 4bits in 16gray lets you do some great looking workbenches, infact I setup AWeb for 4bits in full gray and it was perfect. (Great for AGA using MagicTV) |

I dont think you need MCP or other blabber to make it run nice, and I sure dont need the A630 to make it look good. Besides, I dont think I can fit an A630 and the hard drive at the same time (I thought MANY times abut upgrading that beast) Buzz: You got a thing for Giger? I think he rocks BTW Twistin, how on earth did you recognize the chick? You can't see her face! |

MCP or MuntiCX are brilliant and should be a must for any amiga with more than 1.5mb ram. MultiCX fitted on my custom Workbench floppy for my A500 and helped with many a little thing that needed patching / fixing / adding.
Do you honestly think they would make an 030 cpu card for the a600 that would stop you from fitting a HD? Don't be so naff. Ofcourse you would still have space for a 2.5" |

Is there anyplace to connect a cooling fan or two? Perhaps a grill could be placed for a top mounted fan? Of course this would gumup the looks of the machine

No chance. I got meself one of thse super-slim cooler+heatsink thingies, and I tried to install it above the hard drive... it just doesn't fit. Of course I'm in no way drilling a hole in the beast, nor will I ever tower it (beats the purpose of having an A600!)
It's not like it gets super hot (well, in summer, it does!), but imagine, the 68000 and the custom chips heating up, aproximately an inch above that (or less) you got the hard drive, heating up like a bastard. Now piggyback the 68030 accelerator board on the 68000 processor (this is in the inch between the mobo and the HD), and presto, you got yourself a microwave oven! I rather get another machine for expansion. The A600 was never meant to be manically expanded. Besides, I got an expanded A1200, and I like to push the limits of the A600 on its limited configuration. |
