Interesting fact is that a lot of AMIGA games mentioned here didn't have in-level music at all. It was their title/intro music that made them memorable.

And that's a query I've had for quite some time now.
Why do so many AMIGA games even ones after 1992 like Alien breed, Assassin, Project X, etc... don't have in-level music, just sfx? But other Team17 games like Body Blows, Super Frog had both?!

Swiv & Myth didn't have music either.

Most Core design games like Jaguar XJ220, Chuck Rock, Wonderdog only allow to either have music or sfx, but not both at the same time, where as Genesis/SNES versions had both.

But others Like Turrican series had both.

Is this an AMIGA technical disadvantage?

Its interesting that most of you have talked about just games music. To me some of the best amgia musiv wa sin demos...

Global Trash by The Silents was awsome
There was a demo Called COMA by the rebels which is superb
and the into music on the red Sector Mega Demo

thats just to name a few

...but if you want a game with greate music, Eliminator !!!! try playing that through a modern amp !!!!

Well ...

http://www.deliplayer.com/pub/team_hoi_music_mods.zip

... contains the music of the Hoi sAGA demo trilogy and more, and I already mentioned my biggest demo music hero: Frederic "Moby" Motte, who made the great Arte demo music as well as the very groovy tunes from Fury of the Furries.

I also love the end tune of the Full Moon AGA demo. It brings back sentimental memories of my visit to The Party '93 in Denmark.

Cheers,

Metin

I agree. Take "Jesus on E's", for example. I never liked hardcore music (and I still don't ), but that one is a great example of musicianship, weighing in as it does at 20 minutes long.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Jogeir Liljedahl yet. I particularly enjoyed "Guitar Slinger" for being almost CD quality, even though it's only at 22kHz. Check out "LED Storm" and "Out Of Silence"; in fact, practically anything in /mods/jogei/ on Aminet is worth a listen. The man is a musician without equal in the Amiga world (IMHO, anyway) .

Dr Awesome did some good stuff in his time, too. I also remember that he produced a lovely solo piano tune called "Empty Space". It's not on Aminet, so I'll root around in my CD collection to try to find it.

Yeah, that one rocked your speakers!

Yep, that's a classic too, I totally agree. It was one of those tunes you proudly played to show off the sound capabilities of your Amiga, particularly because the guitar sound was so deliciously acoustic.

Check out "LED Storm"
But that was only a straightforward Protracker conversion of Tim Follin's original LED Storm title tune.

I've also got a lot of memories regarding the early Amiga demo scene. Anyone remember Mark II's "Journey through Galaxy"? Ramon Braumuller and I created a vocal rapversion of that tune while we were part of the Digital Force International.

Cheers,

Metin

Hi,

I've just updated the Team Hoi downloads at the bottom of the Hoi Saga. The Hoi music download includes the 7-voice intro tune. Furthermore you can find a number of MP3s featuring the CD soundtracks of Moon Child, our CD-ROM based sequel to Hoi.
Enjoy!

Cheers,

Metin

Hey Metin, how goes it?

Moon Child. Supreme music. Ramon is the Lord. Is he still producing or has he done any of his own stuff recently?

He's still creating music for commercial assignments in a studio over here in the Netherlands. Business is going just fine I think, although I don't see him as much as I used to these days.

How about you? What are you up to these days? Well, just send me an e-mail or PM, because otherwise we'll hijack this thread.

Cheers!

As i read these posts i cannot help but be stired by the music as i remember it, but a few that mean more than the music thatit was ment to be comes from the fun in playing the game..

if i was to choose just ten and in NO particular order

1. Megalomaina
2. Populous
3. Highed Guns
4. Abandon Places2 (the endtro guitar ... just awsome)
5. Shadow of the Beast (all of them)
6. Captive
7. Alien Breed
8. Wizball
9. Super Stardust
A. Project X

for all all those whom were never stired or heard this music... you have my sympathy because it is way beyond awsome.
