Lords of the Rising Sun

Hello Amigos,
i was looking for a clean working version of Lords of the Rising sun from cinemaware. I worked through google and tryed to get it from cinemaware itselt but they didnt respond to my registration. Got no password send and such and so i cant download the game there.
Most of the versions found in the web have the yoritomo bug. That means he is killed short after gamestart by ninja. Normally you can be hit by three stars before you are killed. Now you are killed instantly and also your Army is always exausted if you play his brother yoshitsune.
1989 i had the original version of the game. If you see the message touch swordhilt to continue (between gemescenes) its the working version of the game.
I already spended hours of research and testing with WinUae but i cant find a working version.
I found a whd version but i cant install it.
Thx for help.

You could have saved some hours if you had searched this forum for similar issues.

This has been requested here and here.

I think the only way out is to have someone do a fully working ADF version like Galahad did it with EXILE, ideally from the WHD version.
It would be reasonable as there is definitely no crack out that has this intentional protection removed. I agree that LOTRS is an OCS game playable on A500/1000, and hence most users who have this machine don't necessarily have a HD and enough RAM to install it.

Since you are using winuae, it should work fine with the whd install.
However if you want to play from the disks, try and get hold on the ipf images which are originals imaged with the copy-protection intact, and hence are working just fine.

Yes, but it should not be for one specific user. My thinking is usually oriented pragmatically and collectively, that means that I reckon it should benefit *EVERYONE*.
And if a 100% deprotected adf version exists, people can BOTH use this in the emulator AND write this to real disk on their miggy.
(as with 99% probability, they've given up with their crack back in the days since it had the same issue as on emulation)

Galahad's solution even gives people the way to play EXILE on the real miggy too, as if they had inserted an original. And that's the way to go!

Yoritomo is one specific guy with one specific problem that he has clearly explained, and lucky for him his problem can be solved right now.
His problem has two known and working solutions, so there is no need to wait for something that may or may not happen sometime in the distant future.

The topic is about whether a solution to Yoritomo's problem exists.
It's been already answered: yes.
Anything else belongs to a different thread, maybe you can start persuading some ex-crackers to take a look into that game to have an adf of it.

Who knows maybe Galahad or Codetapper will look into it.
Or maybe they won't.
You'll never know since your subtle wish of re-cracking is posted here instead of its own thread in an area that they are likely to read, such as the whdload or scene section. [hint]

Certainly it is. With the thingamajig which you dare call a "solution".

Ah. Thanks for telling me when I must start a different thread. I wouldn't have got the idea when I must do that myself.
And stop this nuisant instructing style. It makes me sleepy.
Please.
Thanks.

Everyone calls it a solution, apart from you.
"thingamajig" it certainly is not I "dare" to say.

ThX for answering and giving me first aid in this struggle against the deadly ninja stars.
I also used the search engine here but found nothing what fits, or helped. Sorry for making a new thread.
Now i abdomen all hope to find the emperors daughter, siege the castle by my self, and set forth the honor of the Minamoto Clan.
Perhaps some one has an account to the cinemaware site so i can get the game this way?

Careful with this!
Cinemaware too cannot provide originals on their side, but - yes you read right - they also offer ugly cracks! Since they do not have the skills to remove their nifty copy-protection themselves. ()

Pha, that was a bad attempt of saying "I am out of arguments", just by means of playing the parrot. You can do better than this. Certainly.

The only one forcing this "argument" is you - reminds me of Monty Python and the argument service

Yoritomo: In summary. Try to ask around / search for the IPF images. This will give you a fully working game on WinUAE.

I remember reading a thread here that cinemaware.com version had the copy protection death feature intact. In other words, they had put up a cracked version with that protection. I never got into this game bz of that feature.
