Top 10 Best Amiga Puzzle Games
Hey,
My top 10 favourite Amiga puzzle games. I'm quite sure one most of you never heard of, one had many different versions under two names but what about the others? Did you liked them as well? Would you picked something else? [ Show youtube player ] |

Great list!
![]() The three I like the most are Push Over, ClockWiser and One Step Beyond. You should also consider Revelation!, Puzznic, Gem'X and X-It ![]() |

Ah puzzle games, my favorite genre on the Amiga. For Othello I would have gone with Othello Killer myself, if only for the fact that the game talks to you and has an elevator waiting tune
![]() For Boulderdash, nothing beats Supaplex for me. But Heartlight looks cute as well, I never played that one. Other than that a good list. Mine would have had Logical and Puzznic in it for sure, two of my absolute favorites. Hard to pick a top 10 when most puzzle games on the Amiga were genius. Even mediocre ones like the Power have charm. |

Thanks! Someone mentioned X-It on YT in the comments. I haven't tested it as I don't have access to all games, don't think anyone does. And it sorta went under the radar for me. I will though as judging by the screenshots it may be pretty cool.

Heartlight is something special. In the game folder, there's literally a TXT file that contains all the levels. And when you want to create and add your own to play or share with friends, you just edit the file and ASCII-draw your own. It's so simple and yet so ahead of its time. Also, the latter levels are really really challenging. I may not have included any in the video but they are just to long to work out and complete and wouldn't have fit in 45-60s per game I had.

Anyway, I think I got it from TOSEC if I remember correctly. There's quite a few bizarre games there but some classics are missing too so it's a hit or miss collection really. |

I would have had Bombuzal in there. But a deserved top 2, Pushover and Lemmings are indeed awesome.
Boston Bomb Club maybe, and Rock N Roll... A bit more arcadey, but still puzzle games. |

Thank you for the excellent video. I had never heard of Heartlight. It looks really fun, a little bit like the German game Flaschbier.
Here are some of my favorites then - Oxyd, a wonderful marble and memory game - Think Cross, a game like Puzznic but with better graphics that change in every world - Mindbender, a laser game like Deflektor with wonderful ideas - Mega Motion, a game with multiple balls that need to be guided - Atomino, a game kind of like Atomix - Werner Flaschbier, a German game like Heartlight (single screen Boulderdash) - Future Classics Collection, a game with multiple puzzle games especially Disk Man is very good - The Power, another game like Atomix - The Age of Rock, a Quarth clone with three players simultaneously - Tritus, a Tetris clone with three players simultaneously - Vital Light, another Quarth clone with beautiful graphics and two player mode - Boppin, a cute block matching game where diagonals matter a lot - Devious Designs, a shape matching game with wonderful graphics - Spherical, a beautiful Solomon’s Key clone where you create and destroy blocks to guide a marble to the goal - Wizzys Quest, another Solomon’s Key clone Last edited by rsn8887; 21 April 2022 at 01:23. |
