F/A-18 Interceptor

When I used to play this years ago I could never get passed the mission where you have to destroy the sub. And all these years later I still can't do it! Please somebody enlighten me as to how I can remove this bastard submarine from the face of the earth..

Yeah Id be interested to hear the answer to this aswell. I spent ages trying but dont recall ever actually sinking it. I even managed to land on the thing!

Answer:

There are two ways to complete that scenario. 1) fly low, under 100 ft.
Then head out north west of your carrier(310 degrees if I remember right).
When you spot the enemy carrier/sub, you must come around from the west
(you are heading east/northeast (aprox. direction)) at about 80 ft and
as slow as you can, then fire at least 2 missiles into the end(conning
tower), as you pull up and climb, look behind you, if you did not see
the enemy carrier/sub smoking, you missed, make another pass.
I ususally see a mig on my way and he tries to come in on my tail. Some
times, I see several. That brings me to method #2...

2) Shoot down 5 migs. Be aware, that some days, one of the migs will
launch a cruiser missile(it counts as one of the 5). You will get a
completed after shooting down 5.

In both cases, you have to return and land on your carrier to complete.

Now before you call me an F-18 buff.. I'm not.. I just recall seeing the answer here:
