looking for A1000 kickstart disk
Hi everyone !
I´m new here, so please excuse me if I am posting in the wrong place! I just got my old Commodore Amiga up from my mothers basement. But to my horror all software was missing - as in thrown out - I hooked it up, and it works as it should (to this point) So now I am in desperate need of a compatible kickstart disk. Think its v1.1 to 1.3 ? Please, if anyone out there can help me out or just give some pointers as to where I can acquire this piece of vintage firmware I would be in deep gratitude. As so I can go on with testing this wonderful machine. Thanks |

Hi hgrob and welcome to EAB!
Sorry, but you can only ask to buy an original disk here, so I've moved your thread to the marketplace section. Have a look here why : http://eab.abime.net/faq.php?faq=eab..._ks_wb_faqitem Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy your stay |

I am aware of the copyright status, so I would think other users as well. Strange to automatically assume that I was talking about copied material. But thanks for your fast reply and welcome. I hope I have not unknowingly broken on any of the forum rules. If so, I apologizes. |

That's why I linked to the FAQ entry:
"You can either use the ROM(s) / Workbench disks from your real Amiga(s) or you can buy them from: www.amigaforever.com" |

Yeah, I understand the rules
But I am not looking for a solution which would involve my pc. Vintage solution = retro experience. Is my quest a hopeless one ? Thanks anyway for taking the time to answer my questions. |

I don't think you can buy Kickstart disk anymore, and if you have real hardware that originally came with kickstart disk, like Amiga 1000, I would assume that you are entitled for a copy.

Without another working amiga or extra expensive hardware for the PC you have a couple of options only and one requires having a friend or local amigan with a working amiga and some way to get files from the PC or internet onto it. The other option is to purchase a working kickstart diskette.

Hey everyone...
I got the KS disks, and "kicked" my A1000 out of its hibernation. So its up and running and working like wen it was boxed away. And what a wonderful machine it is !! Thanks to everyone who answered, and thanks to one awesome Finish guy who made it all possible |

quick question... does your A1000 have Danish keyboard layout, and if it does are the Danish special letters put on as stickers or do they look like the other keys?
