That’s what I’m working on now , a script to check against a valid floppy image for wb3.1

Cant you use workbench files ? If you own the kickstart file you will also own the OS as it was included with the Amiga you bought ..

A script would be a good idea, and maybe you should have a look at how the classicwb installs manage this. Speaking to Bloodwych might help, however he isn't too active these days

Just because he owns the kickstart files doesn't mean he can spread them, or the workbench files.

I did it when I was distributing readymade CF cards by moving the files I'd edited (like games locations) back into the classic workbench HDF so after activating with a workbench floppy it was pre configured and ready to go. Something similar may work here.

If no WB files allowed then technically its probably not legal to include hundreds of copyrighted games as well then ?

In all honesty if your being technical nothing with workbench included is legal as it’s commercially sold.

Classic workbench includes workbench 3.0 as a base setup.
Whdload downloads are illegal too.
Vampire OS and so on.

The list goes on.

I had intended the image to ask for a workbench adf but as they are illegally available - there is no point either.

The pi Amiga image that’s about is illegal too of course.

The rules are simple, no workbench or kickstart comes to be distribute on eab. There are ways around this by having a script which copies the files from a users wb adfs.



The pimiga image is also not distributed on here, the links were removed.

I would say, download classic WB and install it using winuae or similar. Then when you have seen how it incorporates WB from the adfs, you can look at the scripts used and try and copy it.


I appreciate this is a lot of extra work, but sadly it's the best way to keep some of the idiots (cloanto etc) off our backs

These are all valid and very good points which I take on board also.

While it is a lot of work, it is ultimately worth while work. When I find motivation to take this approach I will try and use this method for PiMIGA, at which time I hope I can share it with you again in a much more friendly and acceptable way.

Sorry Guy´s , i am new to all those Rasberry Pie stuff. I have downloaded a Image that is basicly for the Rasberry Pie 3B. Will this also work on a RasberryPie 4 ?
( i want to convert one of those awful Arcade1Up "Arcade Machines" into a RasberryPie ARcade Setup)

Hi, no the images for Pi 3b need just that, Theres no official retropie for the pi 4 yet although a few people have hacked the pi zero version to work on the pi 4 with some success.

Check out a site called arcade punks.

I'm still using my pi 3s for retropie and have a pi 4 that I've been experimenting with.

You could say I'm a bit pi crazy as I have a pi zero in a GPi case, a pi2 in a waveshare gamehat, a pi 2 in a tank stick and 3 pi 3s in retro flag NES, Snes and Genesis cases all with their matching bluetooth controllers!

Thanks for all those infos. I downloaded the Image from Arcade Punks. ( the 32 GB Arcade1up ArcadeOnly image )

I have heard that a few games run a bit too slow on the 3B+ so i thought maybe a RasberryPie 4 will do it.
Now i know thanks to you. I am still waiting for my new Controll Panell from Arcade1up.
They will send me a Street Fighter 2 Control Panel for my Final Fight machine. (at least, i hope so) Then i will go out and by the Pie 3+.

Ohhh, and a word of warning for those ARCADE1UP Machines. THEY SUCK !!! I have 2 of them. Terrible Trash. So, be warned.

Hey mate, no trouble for the info, have a look for their Pi4 images, I had a 128gb one which runs quite well but still not perfect.

The Pi4 will be better once it's fully supported by RetroPie or some other front end.

The Pi3s do run pretty well, all up to PlayStation 1 (above that too slow)

If you want to mod that hopeless A1U arcade cabinet you can consider a cheap mini PC. Much more flexible and powerful than RPi.
