Funny you should mention that - my Hakko FR301 is being delivered today!
What terrifies me though is the SMD stuff. I put together a lightsaber (yeah yeah!) with a neopixel blade in the summer, and even just the tiny SMD resistor gave me nightmares. I have so much respect for what the guys who do that regularly can achieve! |

80Mhz seems nice and stable on my board, been soak testing it for several hours now. I'm wondering what cooling to employ on it because it's without heatsink or fan at the moment. Clearance below the keyboard is really quite small.
I havent tried >80 yet but i guess it's safe to try short term as the machine will default back to 50 at reboot. |

@trixster - mine is topping out at ~79.17Mhz via info on CPUspeed.
I think your running a Rev 6. I think the CPU is running cooler than the CPLDs. I have put on two small Raspberry Pi heatsinks to the CPLDs. Just sat with thermal paste at the moment. I am thinking maybe a fan sat further away blowing air over the CPLDs/CPU (a little like Warp1260 solution). The heat generated is nothing compared to a MK1 Blizzard 1230 |

yeah, i plan to heatsink the other chips. i note that cpuspeed doesnt actually allow a value of >80 at the moment.

Isn't this nice?
It's not? Kiss my arse. (Paraphrasing. I speak a bit of Irish, Scots is a bit different. At least its not Welsh, tho.) |

Funny...google translate and deepl got it almost right...but translated the last word as "wave" instead of arse. I assumed it was just a glitch in the translation and that it really meant ass.

Those nice purple boards would look awesome in a transparent case. How fast is the IDE on these 1260 cards?
