WB3.1, Fblit,Icon.library 46.4, MagicWB icons and chipmem usage
By using Fblit and newer ilbm dt, I was able to save the chipmem else spent by screen and window backdrops.
With regards to icon display, they still use chip-mem. Do you need OS3.5/3.9 + new/glow-icons to be able to save icon chip-ram? I use regular magicwb-icons. |

No, if the icon.library and FBlit are correctly installed, the icons don't consume any chipmem. It's not sufficient to copy the icon.library into Libs:, you also need RemLib, LoadModule or LoadResident.
I've made a floppy image IconDemo1200.adf to demonstrate how to install everything correctly. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=64079 |

icon.library was correctly installed (although I added your fblit cfg from the demo disk), the problem was MCP.
When I removed it, chip-ram is preserved, but with MCP (V1,48) enabled, even with all features and patches disabled, chipram is lost when opening windows and applications on the wb screen. |

It's possible that FBlit is not detected by icon.library anymore, if there were other programs opening icon.library before FBlit is started. Icon.library checks for FBlit only on the first two Open() calls.
You could try inserting my optional command "IconsToFastMem" before LoadWB. |

Inserting that cmd made it work, with MCP running. Thanks!

Thanks, good to know about that problem, because I never use MCP on my system. I will increase the number of Open() calls checking for FBlit in the next update.
