List of 2-button joysticks

Dear EAB,

Since we have a list of 2-button games (both native and WHDLoad patched), I think it's fair to start a list of 2-button (2 separate buttons) joysticks. The rules are simple:

- They must be Amiga compatible (with the obvious Atari-style plug)
- The buttons must register as separate 1 and 2 (2 LOGICAL buttons, not multiple physical buttons registering as a single logical button)
- 3rd-party Sega Master System and Mega Drive/Genesis controllers also count (preferably microswitch joysticks)
- Images are ideal (if you can find them)
- Preferably ambidextrous (I'm left-handed and I'm sick and tired of seeing joysticks optimised for right-handed players, even if we southpaws only make up 1/10 of the overall population)

Great initiative Swevicus! I'll add a link to this thread in mine (may I suggest you do the same on your side? ^_-).

One tiny concern though: your thread title seems to me VERY misleading!
I recommend you turn it into sth like:
"List of 2 _LOGICAL_ (not just physical!) buttons Joysticks"

Does it work at all in Amstrad 464 Mode??
(I just remember the amstrad having 2 button support. But I don't think it worked at all like that, in my Atari)

Microswitches, very accurate, quick, ergonomic (saves the thumb!) I bought bunch of these few years ago.

I had that Competition Pro Star. Both large buttons where just firebutton 1 IIRC. The little triangular shaped button was rapidfire.

Only true 2 button-controller I had on the Amiga was a Mega Drive-pad (but that one lacked rapidfire).

The blue/chrome CP Star was available for Master System and Mega Drive too, with max 4 separate buttons.

Ah, didn't know that. Was definitely my favorite joystick for the Amiga (true 2nd firebutton would've made it perfect).

I wonder how comfortable it is to push the second big button on a Competition Pro, though.

Wondered about that, too. The side of the hand that controls the stick should work (for smartbombs and similar secondary functions).

I atari modified a couple of USB competition pros and I kept the big buttons as fire 1 and put fire 2 and 3 into the triangle buttons.

But I used to have one of these (the transparent blue one, Competition Pro Star) where one of the buttons could act as button 2 depending on which mode you had the rocker switch set to. If I am not wrong.

Then it must have been the sega version of the stick. The atari version has autofire/slomo in the rocker and in the triangles.

Hmmm, I don't think I had the Sega version. I could be mental/forgetful/old , haha!
It's been to long for me to recall, and I long threw the box away and the joystick I sold too. So can't check.
I always hated its clickiness, but maybe I should have kept it

Btw., can I use a cheap USB<->DB9-adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.de/Digitus-USB-Se...rds=db9+to+usb to use Amiga joysticks on PC (WinUAE) or do I have to buy one of these special Retronic converters (http://www.retronicdesign.com/en/)?

If the cheap one does it is it ~lagfree (less than 5ms)?

I don't think the cheap one will work.

There had once been adaptors by Retrolink for around the same price, but it's sold out for several years now. There still are alternatives for the one by retronic, like this one. I can't say if it's lagfree, though.

I actually own a retronic adaptor and it's ace.
