EAB/Lemon SUMMER SLAM 2021 - Custom Lotus III tracks
EAB/Lemon SUMMER SLAM 2021 - Custom Lotus III - The Ultimate Challenge Tracks Starts: 00:01 June 13th Finishes: 23:59 July 3rd Welcome to the third EAB/Lemon SUMMER SLAM. A solitary event that has no effect on the Super League or Knockout. The winner will be crowned as the official EAB/Lemon Summer Slam 2021 champion. He will also get the right to determine the game for the next Summer Slam: either Lotus III again with NEW custom tracks (named after a specific theme) or a completely different game that he chooses. Yours truly, the winner of the second Summer Slam decided that we play Lotus III again for Summer Slam III. Now let's play and enjoy these nine custom tracks. All have a different scenario. This year we play fully Lotus 1-style: laps, positions and the Lotus Esprit. You must place at least 10th in a race to proceed to the next race. Rules Select the cup for GAME and the question-mark [?] for COURSE, choose any controls on the left side: Select DEFINE to set exactly these nine custom tracks: Code:
ILUDICRUS-31 QUASARIUS-70 KIDGLOVES-76 UNINVITED-65 OBSESSION-80 DEFLEKTOR-70 ESPIONAGE-70 BLOODWYCH-99 YOLANDAUC-99 The tracks were generated from Amiga game names again. "YOLANDAUC" stands for Yolanda: The Ultimate Challenge (which is the same subtitle that Lotus III has). Return to the main menu and START the game. Select the LOTUS ESPRIT. Alternative: WinUAE-users can just use the standalone savestate below to save the hassle of typing in the tracks. Post a picture of your score here with the score written underneath. Enter as often as you like. Only scores achieved during the round's time frame count. No cheating of any kind, including save states (well, except for the one provided here). If you suspect anyone of cheating please let us know in private - anyone found guilty will be banned from all competitions (incl. Super League & Knockout). You can practice any track individually by typing in its code at the bottom of the main menu and selecting the course-symbol instead of the question mark. Especially for the final three tracks it's nigh impossible to finish 1st if you haven't practiced them before. Every track was tested to be winnable, but it's not easy. Placing at least 10th is very doable though so most participants should get pretty far. Remember, ANYONE can join in at any time. Have fun and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Downloads - Disk 1 Disk 2 - WHDLoad-installed - Course File for WHDLoad version - Stand-alone Savestate (to start right away; needs Amiga 1200 setup with 2MB chip & 8MB FastRAM) Extras - Lemon thread - Summer Slam I - Summer Slam II Results: 1. john4p - 149 2. Stevengton - 120 3. Harry - 60 4. lifeschool - 48 5. CMDR Jameson - 35 6. Biscuit - 31 7. SQron - 27 Since with Lotus I-scoring a tie is possible, the one who posted the winning score first gets to decide the game for next year. The championship title will be shared. Here is a WHDLoad course file attached. Unzip it, copy it to the game directory, load Lotus3 with fire button pressed until Loading appears, go to the courses definition, press ESC to not load another course set, and leave the course definition with entering a number, giving a name and saving the course set to the global courses file.

Was it the Forest or Storm track where you went game over?
There are 2 races that have 10 laps: DEFLEKTOR (Storm) and ESPIONAGE (Highway). In both you must only refuel once - after the 5th lap. If you refuel twice you'll lose too much time. Last edited by john4p; 19 June 2021 at 19:55. |

I thought I'd give it a go this time as Lotus 3 is one of my all-time favourites. I set up my A1200 as I really need my Maverick or Zipstick to play it properly.
After a bit of practice, I got as far as the motorway level but that is rock hard! I assume I must've gone over a blade of grass at one point and 3 cars overtook me... I'll have to practice those last 3 tracks on their own I think. 82 points. No photo as it went back to the menu while I was lining up my camera, but I'll try and beat that if I can and have my mobile ready. |

Some participation after all: Stevengton got close to the max score (170 out of 180 possible points).
edit: Turns out he used the Elan. New score with the Esprit: 120 Rule update: Since with Lotus I-scoring a tie is possible, the one who posted the winning score first gets to decide the game for next year. The championship title will be shared. Last edited by john4p; 02 July 2021 at 20:33. |

And that's that. Thanks @all that took part. Impressive result by Stevengton who is not a Lotus veteran.
The game for next year will be: nullptr Also the "Summer Slam" will be renamed "Summer Break". |
