Hard drive partitioning - CF Card

Hi folks, just burned a 4gb Amiga Image onto a 32gb CF card and want to use the rest of the space without upsetting the existing partitions. Can anyone recommend a safe way of doing this?

Don't forget you'll need to patch the scsi.device to use over the 4gb (or 8gb barrier) depending on the file system installed.

I am using ehide.device - so that shouldnt be an issue. Problem I have now is that Toolbox see's a larger HDD but doesnt see the existing partition and seems hell bent on scrubbing the entire card rather than simply letting re-partition the addition space! merde!

So if you go directly to the partitioning screen after you start hdtoolbox, it's empty?

Is this before or after you used FixHDDSize?

Which program did you use to partition the 4GB card? You should use the same program now. It's not a good idea to mix different partitioning programs.

Hey Folks, thanks for the advice. In the end I scrubbed a cf card and set it back up in winUae. Mounted the image as a secondary drive and copied all the files over…. A bit of a kludge but it worked.

I wouldn't call that a kludge - it's how I always do it so I can get the partition setup I want. :-)
