Using a Apollo 68040 for RAM only?
Ok this may be a really dumb question but is there any way to use the Apollo 68040 just as a RAM board, disabling or removing the 68040 itself?

I doubt it. Give it a shot. I can't see any harm in trying other than you can bend the pins on the CPU.

Well I kind of started to do that, trying to prise the chip out. I stopped after a short while when I realized how hard it was...some may see this as insane and they're probably right but the card it's self never really worked quite right so I figured what the hay.

I've had plenty of A1200's and Apollos. They were reliable but usually required both modifications. |
