borderblank in ECS

I'm trying to write $4201 in bplcon0, it works in AGA but in ECS bplcon0 gets $4200 so BORDERBLANK is not active.

Is that a winuae issue or an amiga feature?

Are you sure you have setup a full-ECS machine? BRDRBLNK is a Denise feature.
(in any case, even if you have set a machine with only Agnus ECS the ECSENA bit should set, at least it does for me...)

Are you sure you use the >e command immediately after the >W?
Isn't it a case that you execute part of the code and in the meantime Copper resets the ECSENA bit?
