The PDF will look like photocopies and will be many MB in size due to their composition. Can anyone PM me suggestions on where I could uplaod them ?

zefrench... be blessed! I hope that this documentation will be quickly available to download.

btw - is there any chance to have nonpdf version of scans? like 300DPI grayscale (256levels - 8 bit), png format?
I'm afraid that jpg compression can destroy some fine details.

TIA

zefrench: If you want to email them to me (oliver at cdtv . org . uk) Ill stick them up on my server regardless of size. Or theres always "The Zone" here on EAB. (Again, you could email me and Ill upload it to the zone if you have trouble)
Would LOVE to read those docs!

ok I will put them first on the eab ftp site. I am scanning everything at 300 dpi greyscale into a series of .png first (png to prevent any loss to due other graphics formats). Those are being uploaded in large (40+MB) zip files.

Then I am manually converting these files to PDF, one page at a time, confirming OCR, to make the PDF docs are valid.

This will take many many weeks, I will post (here?) when I have one done.

To be honest - in our times - 40MB doesn't sound so bad...

btw

We can help to make this faster. I can for sure - just upload scans.

Eureke Communicator 1 / 2 contact

I have found the producer / owner of the Communicator 1 and 2 (CD32 extension device) Seems his company, Eureka, was located like 5 minutes from where I live. (Beek, The Netherlands) He is still in the industry. Should I contact him for an interview? He might shed some light on those pieces of hardware. You can find him at: http://nl.linkedin.com/in/frankhoen

If the documents are black and white, scanning at the highest possible resolution (600 or 1200dpi if your scanner supports it) in black and white would probably give better results than greyscale, and massively smaller file sizes; PDF can use JBIG compression then (which only works for bilevel images).

On a different subject: datasheets for some NCR SCSI controllers are available at bitsavers.org now.

@mark_k grayscale is better than b/w, more DPI also better - IMO 600 DPI should be enough.

well there is one zip file now with all png in greyscale in the eab ftp upload folder, I look forward to feedback on what I used before continuing to scan. Be aware, I am scanning photocopies that are in some case 20 years old.

Unfortunately they don't have any new information (except some interesting history/revision info), main content is nearly identical to public aga.guide custom register description file.

Gayle documentation is the most useful (Gayle registers were never documented officially) but same document was already available few years ago.

Keep scanning, old, rare official documents should be preserved, even if they don't have much technically interesting information

To be honest they are bit more useful for FPGA recreation than software emulation. But this is more interesting to me

Specifications ALICE uploaded. This one was pretty bad, was an old dotmatrix printed document photocopied twice it seems. I had to scan at 600 dpi in greyscale to get the document to be somewhat legible. The zip collection of PNG is close to 400 MB. Any votes for the next one I should scan ?

All of them important, if any similar information exist - it is usually text file, sometimes with errors or with changes during converting. Even small detail not mentioned earlier can help a lot. Thx Zefrench!
