Amiga Mouse Original Tank Mouse Optical sensor Faulty Help please.
Hi all
I have an Original Tank Mouse that has a faulty optical sensor . Does any body know the Brand, model number of these Please. Thanks Ray |

Excellent question, and obviously I have no idea although I would wager that other mice of that era very likely used very similar photo diodes so you might want to look for lists of parts for Atari and Mac mouses.
It would be very useful to manage a component list with modern compatible replacements for all Amiga models and revisions. I don't think such a thing exists? |

Looks more like a LED than a sensor to me. Take a LED out of some old PC mouse.

Hi All
Thanks for your input. I have solved the problem. The design of the OLD tank mouse was a bit iffy. I have changed the 5 resistors that were the load for the IR reciever . The originals were 560 Ohms now 2.7k . Similar circuit included. Thanks Ray |

That's a bit of a funky design... I guess they're using double diodes to get enough of a current differential between light and dark? Maybe phototransistors weren't readily available or were too expensive at the time. Anyway, good work!
