DESCRIPTION
This adapter allows you to connect a VGA/SVGA* or Multiscan monitor to your Amiga RGB port.
This is fully buffered for Commodore-Amiga 500, 500+, 600, 1200 or "big box" Amiga systems (not Amiga 4000 because back cover shell DB23 is needed).

IMPORTANT NOTE:

*SVGA monitor must be able to sync the Amiga's 15Khz signal (most CRT monitors have no problem doing this). Some LCD monitors such as DELL U2410 or BENQ BL702A sync down and support 15Khz- check your monitor specifications for more information.
If your monitor does not support 15KHz, then you will not get a picture until the software drivers are installed and workbench is loaded.

What are the advantages/disadvantages unbufferd vs. buffered? And how does this compare with the silver-colored C= one that shipped with the 1084?

Unbuffered is enough for Amiga 500 500+ 600 and 1200.

For other system Sync buffering is needed..so Amiga 2000,4000 and other Amiga big box.

Without buffered option you wouldn't see anything with an Amiga big box like 2000,4000,ecc

If you want to play with the extra screen (>15kHz VGA type) modes offered by AGA you require one for the A1200 or CD32 if you have a riser with a DB23 port on the back

While I do have a 15kHz capable monitor, how exactly does one get it working with 31kHz ones? Do you have to configure something on workbench? And if so, is it just a matter of waiting on boot until it gets into that configured mode for the image to appear?

The best solution is video card converter like GBS8200 or other video card converter

It is possible to use it with Amiga 4000 but I have to cut a little bit the hood on the corner because on the rear side of A4000 you have the distance between RGB port and audio connector designed for DB23 Hood.

If necessary I'll add another adapter with Hood modified but always with DB23 female original!
