I vote just leave the game as is with the trainer and 2nd joypad button and add NTSC support. No need to make it complicated with intros!

For WREX i just have to connect all the dots. Sooner or later I'll make it!

The surprise is a power-up selectable by a key that is not candy nor shoes (argh.. no more a surprise )
Not a simple trainer at all, damn C compiler...

These are a bit pointless anyway; as they just provide more information on decrypting codes needed for "Super Bubble Bobble".

I think the secret doors are a good thing though, as it rewards the player for playing without dying. AT least its some incentive.

Also needs a title screen "demo" loop

Extra lives are also odd. In the arcade you get extra at 30K, 100K, 400K and 1 million and any extra's from the letters EXTEND.

In this version you get extra lives at 30K, then every 100K, except at 1 million? which don't count past 4 lives max at a time?

The game is now playable and completeable, has still few bugs, though. The worst is the water bubbles - unreliable and often bubbles are bursting without a reason. 2nd is the long delayed lightning bubble. Beside these the rest is marginal.

Regarding bonuses, doors etc. - the game is simply different from other versions, but I would not consider this as bugs or issues. Plays differently - not better or worse. I have just played NES version and it also differs (for example there is not any enemies movement pause when you enter a level).

There are a few people that know everything about Bubble Bobble. 99,9% of the earth population would not notice any difference from the arcade version to this one. The arcade version can be played from MAME.

During my game cracking I've activated (how?!) a game function that give me a special item in any level (even after a new play).
Unfortunately, since I was also modifying parts of the game variables, I have no idea if it is something foreseen by pink or if was only my messing around.
In any case it is very interesting to receive at random even a 'floppy' bonus already at the first level
Has it ever happened to anyone?

Nope, never receive anything on the first level; be it candy, shoes, umbrellas... and I muti-pop all enemies at once.

No, in 1st level I always wait for a bonus, but it is some points fruit only.
