Hello,


does anyone know a good instruction on how I could update my existing Turrican 2 WHDLoad files/directory without completely re-downloading the Turrican file from the google cloud storage.

I have an Amiga 1200 with a Invidivual Computers ACA12XX and a internal SD Card.

The PCMCIA is used by an external SD Card adapter.

Why not put your SD card into pc and do the update there?

from the link it looks like that this is for the Amiga and not for a PC. Am I wrong ?

Sorry, I do not understand. WHDLoad is software for Amiga, yes. What I mean with PC is that you could take your Amiga SD card and put it into a SD card reader connected to your PC. With Amiga emulation running (to prevent filesystem conflicts) you can update the WHDLoad installs and then move the SD card back to your Amiga. Works only if you PC has internet connection, of course. Unfortunately, a computer without internet connection is very limited nowadays.

Hello daxb,

or using it in an emulator would be an option. I didn't thought about that, because with FS-UAE I never saw any options to connect the Amiga VM to the internet.

I will search how this is possible with FS-UAE and try it.

I tried to understand how this works and whether it really updates the whdload version of a game but I from the text on the webpage I am not able to understand it.

In most cases You need just update #?.slave file. Just download newest version, extract #?.slave file (i'll recommend also readme file) and overwrite old version(s) with new one(s).

In cases when data handling is changed (e.g. files not images) You must reinstall or download whole game.

What Solo Kazuki said and I would strongly recommend to read the readme first. Sometimes a manual file or some other file was added you may want to save. Usually, this is all done in seconds.

I am waking this thread up again.
I recently got my Amiga online for the first time. I wanted to try updating some slaves that i saw was very old and had newer versions. I downloaded openurl.library and installed it but when i click the update button nothing ever happens.

AFAIR the updates are manual. The internet connection just checks that the slave is the latest one. If it's not you get an "update" message that opens a browser on whdload site

I sorted it out. i just had to change some settings in openurl.library to point it towards IBrowse. All is well

Is the updates hash database downloadable or otherwise easily accessible? I'd love to be able to check all my slaves once a month or so for any updates, and that'd probably be best with an offline copy of the DB.
