Arrow Kwasimodo (100% working)

Another of my famous "100% working" requests.

I found both the non-tagged TOSEC version and the [a]-tagged version corrupt.
Both disks did work on my A1000, but there were two problems:

(1) you could not enter your name if you scored a high score, because the letters beyond 'T' were missing
(2) game CRASHED after you didn't make any high score

I analysed both of the disk and found the [a] version to be actually a modified version of the other one!
The non-[a] version has an error on block 11 due to a wrong sequence number: file 'Hunch/Hunch No Score' is corrupt.
That explained the crash after not making any score!
The "modifiers" for the [a] version did it very simply: they just DELETED (!!!) the 'Hunch No Score' file! Nice idea to "fix" a track error.

==

I hope someone else has another copy of this game.

The WHD version is also appreciated.
I might get the ADF version to work again by replacing some files.

Thanks in advance.

After a decent while ...

Thanks for uploading ... but this version does not work.
Maybe it's WinUAE's fault, but maybe even not. After completing level 2 (just at the beginning) everything goes just dark.
However, when playing around with Amiga-M or -N (?), you can at least re-activate the logo screen. And with another playing-around, you can also make the screen flash so that you can clearly see that there ARE still graphics, but they're not shown.

I put the HDF in the zone, for anyone to test.
(Don't forget to set enough expansion mem, otherwise WinUAE will go all crazy and stay caught in an endless loading loop!)

OK, for testing, I used WHDload 16.0 and not the latest version, but as the install is from February 2002, this should not matter.

Why aren't you using the latest version? There have been a lot of internal bug fixes from v16.0 to the latest beta 16.4...

Yes, but it's really no point here, as there might otherwise have been more complaints 2 years ago that the game doesn't work ...
OK, you've pushed me to it. Now replaced with 16.4 beta, but same thing: black screen after level 2 (As I thought, it made no change. )

BTW:
It pops into the eye that the HD goes always crazy if there's too few mem.
(could be WHDload- or KickEmul-related)

- With 1 MB Chip mem and no other mem, you will get a 'Can't allocate ExpMem'. This is OK.
- With 2 MB Chip mem and no other mem, you will not get a message that ExpMem cannot be allocated, even though fast mem is zero!
- With 1 MB Chip mem and 1 MB fast mem, you will not get a message either, even though fast mem is insufficient! HD will go loading in an infinite loop.
- With 1 MB Chip mem and 2 MB fast mem, everything (except Kwasimodo beyond level 2) works.

=> WHDload never seems to complain when fast mem is zero and chip mem is sufficient (as with 2 MB Chip + 0 MB Fast), although it must have fast mem to work in this case.

[edit]
Thanks to that guy who sent me another version!
Haynor's version is definitely broken, and won't work beyond level 2.
But yours works!

[edit2]
Thanks CFOU! for ripping the thing to files (finally!)
Writing on 'Disk.1' was not a good thing
