Cebulba's MIA add-ons for HOL...and more.

Hello folks...

Andreas asked me to check for missing games and other MIA games...

well, now that I have the time and want to go through my collection I will add all information I can find in this thread....

To start:

Missing HOL Entries:
BREACH - Scenario Disk by Omnitrend
Goldrunner Scenario Disk I
Goldrunner Scenario Disk II (unfortunately I sold both long ago - so I cannot say if it was Goldrunner I or Goldrunner II but as far as I remember it was the first one - however somewhere on my CD-Rs there's a backup of the picture...)

more to come.

@Andreas: And now hunt down the images ;-)

Thanks cebulba!

Well, this is not gonna be easy to "hunt" down.
BTW scenery/scenario disks are not top-priority in HOL, at least not for me. If you could fill some regular game MIAs first, this would be great.

Could you image BREACH Scenario Disk I then? (as you said you sold both GR Scenario disks I + II, you should have Breach then eh )

you don't ask me to open a sealed game, don't you?

Well, at least I need to get this AMIGA to PC connection to run and then the SPS software...
everything already here (incl. cables) - however it might be easier to get that CF-Card Reader for A1200...

give me 2 weeks to set it up

OUCH ... well I completely forgot about that matter.

BTW if *you* knew what can be inside sealed games ... it's really good to NOT open them because if you open them, you might want to throw them into the bin...I once bought a sealed one, and OPENED it ... result was that all disks were damp with moisture!! So if I had resold it sealed, it would have gone for a good price, as "what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over"
And the next collector that gets this game would still think all inside is ok (as he would NOT open it either )
Weird thing in some way -- data junk (as it is now) inside shiny sealed boxes gets passed from collector to collector and has probably been unusable for 2 years

Yet I DO wager that many sealed games collectors have in their collection are unusable inside as some disks are already "gone"...

hehe

I remember one of my friends got a sealed ULTIMA I. That normally should contain six "coins". Well he openend it - and there were no coins. Obviously that box was indeed reshrinked - but he got a full refund by the seller.

Conclusion and suggestion was: If you ever come across a sealed Ultima I and being unsure if it's complete - take a metal detector

as for the Breach Data: One of my Amiga friends has a sealed one, too. Perhaps I can convince him to open it

There are a lot sealed game collectors here. FYI, the plastic shrinkwrap material most likely contains acid. Eventually the acid will eat away the box. So much for the long term preservation goal.

My post was already TOO long ...
otherwise I would've added: "when consumers' X-ray scanners will someday be affordable, there'll be a way to peek inside sealed boxes

Otherwise, be lucky to have a dentist or internist in your neighborhood or as a good friend, so that you can borrow your friend's...
