I don't know what to do now, I was about ready to bite alenppc's hand off but I think I should wait for kippers or plasmas new design as anything that involves DIY puts my hardware at risk but then I don't want to do that and then not even be able to get one. First world problems...
Will you be selling them to other people going forward alenppc? kipper version etc? |

The modified kipper board will be open source too. If you derive from the TF530s schematic/firmware or pcb you must open up your sources. That's the GPL license. Just a reminder for anyone making derived boards.

Wow. Are you ok? Feeling a bit tired? Your 'joke' was so poor you had to explain it. I was being polite and at the time was actually slightly interested whether what you were saying had some basis in reality. Now I couldn't care less.

I don't need them, so I am asking just a tad above what it cost me in components to build. I have a few reserved ones (still waiting on the connectors) so if I can get them sold I'll reinvest into building something else. I would definitely be curious to try building kipper's version, the only problem is that at this point the RAMs have become quite expensive (basically $40 per board), so unless we can find an alternative source, I don't know if it's worth building more of these because the price of the ram will keep going up as the supplies deplete, and the board might become too expensive overall. It also seems Digikey is raising the CPLDs prices, albeit not as steeply, and they are the only source where I can find them so far, so I am thinking they are probably going to stop carrying them as well once they deplete their current stock. |

Indeed. The cpld prices just jumped. The TF534S uses different ram (4mb) and a Sata connector. Its not raised so may work without much relocation

The supplier here in Australia, is AU$7.75, with bulk price discounts and 136 in stock (Ram), and the CPLD is AU$8.40 each with 1700 in stock but no bulk discounts. I think, with 136 in stock, once sold, they will go up (If they source from Digikey). Just need my boards to arrive then I will finalize the part list with my supplier. Digikey for Australia, are out of stock on the FPGA (Probably the reason) for the NON Green version, They have Green in stock at AU$4.80 (VQG64). Between my supplier and Digikey, there are some dearer, and some cheaper.. its half a dozen of one, and 6 of the other.. |

Definitely higher prices than that in Canada especially considering that CAD is basically at par with AUD + we have 15% sales tax (VAT) on top

I've just put in 4 hours of routing on the TF534S.
Ram is now wired for 4mb of SRAM (55ns), bus cpld has been redone for Sata plus I've added A5 so Atari ST users can use the Sata. I've added A1-A3 for the missing iack cycle on the tf530 rev 3. Maybe int2 will be factored out this time. Just need to require ram cpld and we are done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hello! This is my first post in the forum
First of all I would like to thanks to plasmab for such a cool open source project. Its really nice to have the chance to upgrade our A500 without loosing a kidney Im coming a bit late to this so probably my questions are already asked. I ordered a batch of TF530 Rev3 from dirtyPCBs and Im trying to build one for my A500. I have a couple of doubts I hope someone can help me with. In the README the crystal oscillator is 20mhz, but Im seeing in this thread ppl is running their board at 25mhz. Which speed will match with the CPLD firmware from the repositoy? Would the board boot with the CPU only (without RAM/FPU)? Lastly, is there any airwires needed on the Rev3 board? Thanks in advance! |
