Commodore CDTV Keyboard doesnt work Help

Well i'm investing heavily in my cdtv setup and got a cdtv keyboard. I plugged it in, but it doenst seem to respond. Whats weird is that when the cdtv boots the Caps lock key flashes once like normal, but the keys are unresponsive. I cant even do the 3 finger salut. The Caps lock key lights when pressed but when pressed multiple times it stops coming on.. please help i really need a keyboard for my project

Where did you get the keyboard from? Seperate from the rest of your set up?

Im thinking itd possible it could have been converted to use with the CD32 which means it wont work on the CDTV until the cables are mapped back

Does anyone else have any advice on this what to do? If I open the keyboard are the chips replaceable from other amiga keyboards or something? I think that one time I plugged in the keyboard and it didnt go in properly and two pins of the connector may have touched. Could this have shorted something? I dont know much about this kind of thing. Thank you

If you think you have done a short circuit it is the CDTV itself that you have shorted.
So try with another CDTV keyboard.
If you think the keyboard has been modded, open the kb, at the end of the wire there is a connector C12. Look if it as been moded.

I dont think the keyboard was modded. I will crack it open tonight and see whats up i guess..

I dont have another cdtv keyboard to try and amiga users are few and far between in north america nowadays. I wish i could try another keyboard would make the troubleshooting easier. The weird thing is the caps lock flashes once like its supposed to on boot up, but if i press it after i boot it lights like 6-7 times then stops lighting up. Also even 3 finger salute doesnt work

At least the cable and the connector, and if you did open it, also of the circuit board area where the cable is attached inside. Would help to determine if it has indeed been modified or perhaps if there is something loose/broken.
