November Quiz - Clues #1
25 points for 25 correct names... and this time an additional five points for all of you that can figure out the five themes hidden in this round. That's quite exciting, and now that the month is half over we have 26 people in the game. There can definitely be more - so when are YOU joining? :P Watch out, this time I am more strict with the game titles. So if you don't enter the right part of a series or franchise, you'll only get half a point! Here are the first clues: 1) Game 5 is a LEGO title. 2) The entries 6, 14 and 24 were not released on stationary devices. 3) Number 8 is the newest game in this round. 4) Image #10 is not ingame, but shows a part of the cover. Deadline is Monday the 30th November, participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/ Here is the quiz again: https://i.imgur.com/It1fW6h.png |

"stationary devices". That's the first time I hear it described like that. So only on handhelds, then?

But you are right: The entries 6, 14 and 24 were not released on stationary devices are either handheld or smartphone games. |

You hold a phone in your hand to operate it, so that would definitely qualify it as a handheld device

November Quiz - Clues #2
This round has seen only sparse contribution, so far 35 people have joined - three of which from this community. Mmmh, I wonder why? Well, maybe some more will come now that there's a new set of clues! Here are four more clues: 1) Game 20 is the software version of a board game. 2) You are playing a god in number 16. 3) Title 9 is a german Action RPG. 4) The games that belong to a theme are never directly after each other, there is always a gap of at least one game. Deadline is Monday the 30th November, participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/ Here is the quiz again, good luck. https://i.imgur.com/It1fW6h.png |

November Quiz - Clues #3
Don't forget - we are not only having the beginning of Christmas season right now, but also the last weekend of the November quiz... Monday it's all over, and so far there are exactly four users from this forum among the 56 overall players. I hope this final clue post will remind and/or motivate you to still join the game. So then, here are the final clues: 1) Number 3 is a realtime strategy game. 2) 25 players have gotten game 8 right, but 31 players have gotten it only half-right. Watch out! 3) Titles 2 and 5 are loosely based on books. 4) Picture 7 shows you the insides of a hospital. Deadline is the coming Monday (30th November), participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/ Here is the quiz one last time, now get going! https://i.imgur.com/It1fW6h.png |

My brain hurts. I'm giving this one a pass. I find it deceptively difficult to google the ones I don't know this round. And I couldn't even work out the themes :/ I got 4 themes, two of which I can fit only three games in so I'm pretty sure they're wrong, or its because I just don't know quite some of these games so I wouldn't know in which genre they fit

Nope. Can't get 17. I am definitely going to kick myself in a big way. I'm also still a bit unsure of two of the genres. I still think I've not done too bad though.

I'll be mighty interested to hear after the results are published how people who did not know this game found out which one it is, because boy... there's little to go on. Based on the pixelation it is sort of easy to guesstimate which era of computing the game is from, but on the other hand that style of graphic can also be very modern because it's popular among indies so who knows.
