a500 hard drive

whats the biggest hard drive that can be used on a a500?
I have a 1 gig (1052 meg) ibm scsi hd and when switching between kick 1.3 and 2.04 roms, the hd is seen in one kickstart but not the other.. I switch between some toggels like handler fastfilesystem and oldfilesystem makes a bit of a difference, there is use 1.3 and 2.0 with on off or boot or main as options but no go. fast track scsi software 1.55 if i split the drive into 2 i can get workbench in both kickstarts but 2nd partition isn't seen in 2.0. and then when i go back to 1.3 the wb partition is corrupted.. anyone have this prob?

The maxtransfer is too high, low it in all partitions to 0x01fe0000 or less.

1.3 ROM don't have a SCSI.device (nor any 2.04 ROM with number 37.299 or less).

Anyway, on ROM 2.04 you need to name the boot partition to "WB_2.x" or it will not boot at all. On 1.3 you need to move the controller icon to the expansion drawer or it will not boot at all.

To use on 1.3, the HD must be formatted in OFS or the WB 1.3 will try to "validate" the FFS partitions, corrupting them.

SCSI controllers generally don't have maxtransfer problems.

EDIT2: 0x01fe0000? where does this number come from? It is totally bogus for maxtransfer

k have hd in 1.3 and 2.0 and is in old file system,
boots no prob in 2.0, when booting with the 1.3 rom it wants to validate the disk.. their was a controler icon in the expansion draw, copied that over (from the xetec disk)
no go.. after clicking on cancel on need validating and use diskdoctor and checksum errors it gets to workbench.. i click on the info for the hd and says validating.. left it for sometime and there seems to be no hard drive activity.. am i missing something.. I checked sysinfo (in 2.0) and the hard drive is the bootdisk.device.. so i put that in the hard drive info in the mountlist under 1.3 workbench.. still luck.. and ideas?
