A600: Which Kickstart ROM Should I Get to Boot CF-IDE?

Over the last few weeks I've been collecting hardware for my A600 so that I can boot Workbench off a CF-IDE adapter and use WHDLoad. It hasn't worked out so far. Yesterday I managed to create a ClassicWB 2.1 partition (68K Green Alien) that boots successfully with WinUAE on Kickstart-v2.05-rev37.299, but not in the A600. After a bit of research, it would seem that the ROM in my A600 (v2.05 32.229) cannot boot hard drives

So my question is, should I just grab a new 3.1 ROM for the A600, or should I try to find a later revision of the 2.05 ROM? Any downside to using the 3.1 ROM?

The A600 specs are so far as follows:

2MB Chip RAM
4MB Fast RAM
V.H2 44-pin IDE-CF adapter with 4GB Transcend CF

If you're replacing the ROM anyway, I'd go for the 3.1 option. Compatibility wise for old software it's the same as a 2.x ROM, and you'll get all the nice things 3.1 brings with it.

Okay, thanks. I've ordered one.

This £110 Amiga is becoming more expensive by the day!
