Elbox Blackbox 1200 and Mediator 1200TX

Just finished bUILDING my Blackbox 1200 with mediator.

Two issues so far before even trying to install my video card.

1. With my ACA1233n 55mhz won't boot - Remove it and boots
2. I have amigakit A1200/600 buffered IDE - Wont boot with that installed. Remove and connect CF IDE to motherboard and boots.

Anything I can do?

Thanks!

What jumpers do you have set on the Mediator? I kno with my ACA1233n-40 I need to have the jumpers set in a specific way.

Tried every combination. And if the 1200 boots it locks up and the caps lock LED blinks

RTFM After reading the manual I got it working.

Here are the jumpers:

Wait: OPEN
CONFIG: CLOSED
MEMORY WINDOW: 0 MB

Thanks for making me read the manual

Memory window is needed to access pci memory space, I think. Setting it to zero will defeat the use of a mediator if I am right.

Thanks!

You are correct that PCI won't work with memory=0

That post only tells you what you can do if it it boots, my problem is if I change the memory to 8 or 4 the computer won't boot

I assume the ACA1233n 55mhz has a full 68030 on it with an MMU?

his accelerator comes with a 50MHz 68030 processor (incl. MMU) in gold/ceramic and 128MBytes physical memory. 1MByte of this memory is reserved for Kickstart re-mapping. This card uses an improved version of our SD-RAM controller that was developed for the previous 55.55MHz accelerator, providing a tiny bit more speed than the sold-out ACA1233-55. Further, Chip RAM access speed has been optimized to the max, giving the user the possibility to squeeze out the last cycle by adapting the access speed to the clock frequency of their main board. Every single card has been tested to be compatible with the rate of overclocking

I have the same setup with a Blizzard PPC and it works well, unfortunately I read in an auction on Ebay just ended a few days ago that the aca1233n doesn't work well with Mediator TX and BlackBox 1200 Tower...
It seems that it is the PSU that isn't good enough, could you, maybe, try with a different suitable PSU?

When you say it doesn't boot, how far into the boot sequence does it get? I remember having difficulties with my 1233n-40 and mediator where it would get so far then hang. Usually I would see a Workbench screen with no icons and a frozen mouse.

When I say doesn't boot means black screen never boots to workbench.
