I'm not sure this was actually ever developed, i think those screenshots are just some mockups are mislabelled ones (we all remember how accurate mags were back then).

Take a look on the EAB File server under "~Uploads/DamienD/Non-TOSEC [20-02-2016]"; you will find this Code:

SEGA cancelled US Golds licence before the game ever got off the ground, they decided it was to be a SEGA exclusive character.
Wise move, Amiga version being handled by US Gold = Tiertex......that shit aint funny, as the Strider 'engine' gets an airing for the third time. |

That mockup doesn't even make sense.
Tiertex handling Sonic would be really epic. We probably would have Sonic also for Spectrum, which would be super-epic. |

I think the NES version is a good impression of what a Tiertex-made Amiga port would be like.

Lol what a crappy NES version. Well with good programmer you get good results. The Master System version is brilliant, it has a better gameplay than the original MD game.

Then compare carefully. The MD version plays like a generic tech demo of what Sonic 2 later was. Makes more fun on the Master System.
