A600GS Feedback/Discussion
As this device seems like a forward looking prospect I thought it might be a good idea to have a separate thread dedicated to user experience, I realise there is the Official website forum too but this place get's quite a decent amount of Amiga users so maybe worth having one here, also it doesn't drown out the related discourse on the official updates.
I'd like to know if others having been experiencing the frame hitches/drops that I've experienced and if the developers have looked into it. So if anybody wants to set their GS to output at 1080p50 and run some games (A500 stuff), preferably for at least 5/10 minutes to see if they get the same drops would be nice. As it seems intermittent it's best if you can get some uninterrupted scrolling (boring I know) and carefully observe for any hiccups. I've not see any other users report this so I'm curious. |

How are you finding the A600GS so far? Is it an enjoyable experience? Really looking forward to getting mine. The new games included have only served to whet my appetite even further as they are ones I didn't have on my A1200 back in the day but wanted to try.

It was ok. It needed more time than I could give it to work out all the ins and outs. It is school holiday at the moment but come sept I will have more free time.
It might become more interesting if it works with a Drawbridge USB floppy disk drive (e.g. can read real Amiga disks) |

It's a good project, and seems to be getting a lot more support than the A5000 Mini got after the initial excitement died down.
One thing that annoys the hell out of me is the menu on the left - it slides open but if you go too far (like to the edge of the screen) it closes again. I'm assuming it's HTML-based and uses a hover, and on the right they are using margin rather than padding, which doesn't detect the hover. |
