Starquake: Support & Release Thread
So, v1.1 of Starquake has been released, and im now working on v1.2 which will hopefully be released before Christmas.
A few bugs have been found and i appreciate the reports. Just so we are clear, please PM me any bugs you discover so as not to derail the thread too much. The proposed v1.2 will also form the basis of a CD32 version with joypad entry for those parts of the game that usually requires keyboard entry. V1.2 will fix a few bugs and also have a speedup for 68000 which should make it more bearable on A500 and A600. There will be a general change in code so that Starquake runs on NTSC machines properly. Last edited by Galahad/FLT; 20 November 2018 at 21:06. |

I gave this a go last night on my A1200 (NTSC). I was unable to use up joystick (joy1) at all. I have no previous experience with this title but I assume it should have triggered a jump?
Congrats on a neat project, btw. |

BLOB doesn't jump but if you trigger down you'll be able to create your own short lived platforms to climb up. You've only got a limited amount tho so you'll have to collect more as you proceed further into the game.

Better go right in the beginning and you will soon find a platform that you can use to fly around on...

Just to keep people updated, I've been very busy but Starquake WHDLoad slave is almost done. I'm in contact with Galahad to ensure minimal changes will be required for a future updated version so not too long now.

Awesome work and a big thanks to everyone involved.
Will have a better chance to get stuck into this once the WHDLoader is available. |

A big greeting to my friend Galahad for his hard work and all people involved in the project.
If you want to hear the conversion that I had to do for galahad of one of his preferred modules, I'm afraid you should find out how to access the secret part. Has anyone already achieved it? |

No Estrayk, I am waiting for a trainer / cheat, because the game is hard as hell.

So, wanna know some secrets?
If you hold down fire until the Copyright screen appears after the cracktro, a different title music is played. Or maybe you want to see the secret part? Get a highscore and enter your name as the best home computer ever made |

I've followed 4-Mat's work from the 90s. Broken Heart didn't instantly grab me like some of his others (e.g. Ad Astra), but it sure becomes infectious after playing it for a while. Nice job Estrayk!

God damn that there Starquake has waaaaay too many unskippable pointless screens before you get to the game.
Anyone fancy doing a cracked version that lets you start playing in less time than it takes to load the Spectrum version? |

...as opposed to my DamienD's WinUAE Collection one. Maybe when Galahad releases v1.2 he can make it possible to skip most screens to the following: Anyway, copied yours and this post to his thread for you Dunny |
