WHDLoad Ram Issues
Should you be able to load any whdload game from the hard drive, when (Booting with no startup sequence) eg. (whdload xxxxxxx. slave preload) ?
cause when I try dont seem to get anywhere even with games that work directly from HD. just try to get round some Ram issues. till get the dough for a fast ram card for my A1200. or can I just copy any came from the HD to floppy and then load it that way? which would be handy for playing on my A600 Many Thanks |

Most of the 1-disk Amiga games should work with a stock A1200+WHDLoad, you should check the release readme's for any WHDLoad patch.
Though a lot of games need some fast ram, it's highly recommended to get a 4MB/8MB memory expansion or a turbo card. Quote:

I've seen a card on amigakit for £160 comes with 16MB, so hope to get that soon. I've also ordered one of those transfer kits, should arrive next couple of days, then I'll get that whdload update 17.0. seem to have a lot of dos errors with the games I have.
what about the tranfering to flopy disk to play on my A600,? I was going to give it a try Thanks |

The ADF transferkit comes with a bootdisk/ADF image writing software. EasyADF, if you ordered it at Amigakit.

Yes I ordered it there got an emil saying it was on its way, so I see I'll be able then to write back any of the game images to real disk! that would be great, I'll need to sort out those errors

You can remove the WHDLoad "PRELOAD" option: whdload will then use less memory (but the screen will flash when loading which is sometimes unbearable depending on the games).
