Hi, I decided to make a 20 pin 1mm pitch FFC header that contains all the breakout signals needed from Denise in order to forward it to a future HDMI upgrade. it should save the need for a Denise plug on board. I like to add things to my projects "just in case" it can be implemented down the road. The Composite/Svdeo circuit is based on my "Narmi" PAL/NTSC board. You can find details pretty well everywhere on it. Last edited by kipper2k; 07 July 2020 at 15:31. |

i was going to post on the A1200 motherboard thread but thread is closed. In reference to Acills comment on the time needed to create a layout from scratch, It took me about a month to do the A500+ from scratch using eagle. The Amigapcb.org layouts are nice but the older through hole layouts are very impractical as regards parts available and cost of them. Once i get the A500/A1k/A2k done and working i will release schematics for people to use and fork their own. ATM i am still not in good shape so work is at a crawl.

The Gerber files I have created are only conversions from the SVG data that is made public and visible to everyone if you go to developer mode in Chrome. I didn't share the original HTML code with the SVG data of amigapcb.org, so what is the problem?
When you have original Commodore PCB design files you don't own and give them to someone who builds a website to use that data, is that ethical? Get wel soon, kipper2k ;-) |

thanks cd32freak. I am pretty sure that when amigapcb.org posted the layouts he had an idea that people would use them to create their own layouts, copying a copy i dont think is a sin. especially on an old 30 year old layout. That is why i will release my layout once i am happy with it, who knows it may(will) get improvements along the way.

I support your work kipper, your take on the A500 isn't to my fancy but I'm all for freedom of choice and sharing, as opposed to a select few people trying to exercise control over what goes on the community.

Hi All,
It's been a while but i have finally submitted the A1k board for assembly. i don't know if it is 100%, i wont know until i build it. Unfortunately due to the code lockout the Vampires will not work in it. The board has a lot of implemented addons that i think people will like, i have tried to add things that i think people will like/need while at the same time keeping it as a true Amiga 1000. There are quite a few addons that i will not mention at the moment The board is based on RED KEG Technologies A500 board which i have redone from scratch using Eagle. It iss very similar to the SMD500 board and hopefully should support 2MB chipmem and perform just as well. If i messed up then so be it i will retry will be about 2 weeks until i get the completed boards, i ordered 5 boards so hopefully i can recoup some cost. The layout of the board will allow all of the A500 accelerators to fit on the motherboard (Yeah, even the vampire lol). will show some layout pics in a few days. p.s. just to confirm, this is a modified Rev 8a A500 mobo that is remastered to fit in an a1000 |

Glad I found this brilliant topic. Amazing!
Following, of course. Hoping to buy one of each when available (A500 and A1000..). *** Edit: wondering if you shouldn't create a PayPal donation webpage for people to support you in your project... if not a crow funding campaign. **** Edit 2: all links are broken and pictures are not visible. Pity I'm coming too late; I'd have loved to see pictures... Last edited by seb132; 30 January 2021 at 09:21. |
