Online Piracy Act: Time For Action

Hello Everyone,
It's my belief that the proposed Protect IP Act (for the US Senate) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (for the US House of Representatives) constitute the greatest threat to the freedom, on-line or otherwise, of ordinary people who live in 'civilised countries' in the last 70 years and should be opposed to the limit of our ability.

In a nut-shell anyone who runs any kind of web-site will be liable to immediate action without warning or appeal should any party claim there is copy-right infringement - no proof of said infringement required, accusation will be enough!
If said site is hosted in the US it will be taken down without warning or black-listed by US servers if hosted elsewhere in the world. (That's before we even get to any potential legal action)

Oh-Yes! But very powerful interest groups in the US are lobbying hard and there is a very good chance one or both of these travesties will become law.

What can we do?

Well, over on reddit.com you can read about a movement to shut down all websites on January 18th from 8am–8pm EST (1300–0100 UTC) by way of protest, and also to give an indication to US legislators of how our future internet will look should this legislation go through.

I can't begin to say how strongly I feel that the EAB should take part, and everyone here should do the same with their own sites and pass this information on to as many others as they possibly can.

Already have acted on this , it's an outragious law there pushing, and if passed, the intenet will not be worth crap other than advertisment sites and the likes, no free speech or personal opinion , if they don't like it you gone, simply as that, so :

//edit : I see people already have added nonsense to it. Apparently 'Facebook', 'Google' and 'Twitter' are blacking out on that date. Erm. I don't think they are
