Strike Force Harrier
I downloaded Defjam disk #7 which has Strike Force Harrier on it. However, after decrunching, I get a requester "Software error - task held" etc. (Interesting, this used to happen back in the day too.) So maybe it is corrupt? Is there a known good version of this game (or of the whole disk) available?
Also, I noticed with that the Defjam disk #9 I downloaded that the original bootblock has been stuffed up by some lamer, does anyone know where I would get the original 100% version? Thanks. |

@Galahad:
>Here maybe? http://planetemu.net/index.php?secti...rom&id=1078993 Thanks. I thought I had checked there but must have missed it. Seems to work fine. Ideally a non-corrupted Defjam #7 would be good, but I guess it's not that important. @ma693541: >Link to Defjam disk #9; http://planetemu.net/index.php?secti...owrom&id=19906 Yeah, that's the same hacked version I have, I think that's where I got it from originally. Their "Compilations" directory appears to have not been updated since 2004. But thanks anyway. |

No, it doesn't work under KS1.2 either (gets a guru instead of "task held").

It works fine under 1.2 as I wrote. Disk image in The Zone.

OK, I've done some experimenting and found out how to get it working. As well as KS1.2, it also needs all external drives to be turned off. Maybe this should be documented somewhere, or some future version of UAE could autosense the game and modify its configuration automagically (same as my emulator does).
Interestingly the copy you Zoned is different to mine, I seem to have the original whereas yours is not. Strike Force Harrier works on both versions, as long as you use KS1.2+no drives except DF0:. Thanks for your help StingRay, Galahad and ma693541. |
