Amiga to USB Mouse Adapter (www.amigakit.com)

Amiga to USB Mouse Adapter now available

Features a 9-pin connector to plug into the Amiga's mouse port and a USB socket where a modern USB mouse can connect.

Unlike lower cost adapters that require the USB mouse to be PS2 compatible, this adapter will work with real modern USB mice.

No software drivers are required, simply plug in the adapter and mouse, power on the computer and use!

We are pleased to bring this high quality product to the community at our low prices.

Nice. Will it work with mouse paired with the Logitech wireless unifying receiver?

There's no mention of Amiga 1000 compatibility on your web page. Will it work with an A1000?

No scroll wheel support. Couldn't live with that.

Stick with the amiga mouse I bought from you instead

I got this adapter and I can report it works great.

I have keyboard and mouse connected to the same Logitech unifying receiver that I use with multiple PCs and Macs. Now Im happy to report that if I move the receiver to the Amiga I can use the wireless mouse with it.

I have the Logitech MX Anywhere 2, and with this mouse I think the "feel" when moving the mouse pointer is great on the Amiga. Maybe a tiny bit too sensitive, but that is very dependent on personal preference. If anything could be improved with the adapter that is if there was some way to adjust the sensitivity in a very precise way to get it just right.

That’s great to hear. Did you try amending the mouse pointer speed in Input Prefs ? It is subjective to the mouse you are using and personal tastes on how sensitive the pointer moves.

Yes that works, but it changes the sensitivity in to big steps, and also games does not use this.

I bought one a while back and never got around to using it!
So tried it Wednesday night (5th June 2024) and I cannot get it working.

I have a few different usb adapters and I use them all perfectly ok with a pair of basic wired microsoft laser mice. But my amigakit adaptor refuses to work with them!

I also have a usb mouse adapter that is a clone of the amigakit one, I bought it on ebay a few years back. The mcrosoft mice work fine with it.

The Amigakit one, the mouse will flash for a microsecond and nothing. I have tried it on two different A1200's and both machines are recapped and working fine.

Does anyone know what could be wrong? is there something else I should be doing? the device looks perfect.

Are you sure it is a clone. Newer adapters support HID class USB mice whereas older ones only support mice that support legacy PS/2 over USB

You are correct, it cant be a clone, as it uses own version of firmware. From what I have seen, quick flash, means its not a true usb mouse and has PS2 over usb.
