F-19 for me baby!
... one of the only ones I loved! ... B-17 was quite funny... I never knew there was a skip time button so I spent like hours getting to france in real-time ... - we're talking AGES ago now like PS: Did anyone notice how crap F-117A was when it came out? It was made to be like a sequel to F-19 but it was SOO BADDDDD! - IMO! :> Last edited by EmuChicken; 22 June 2007 at 15:43. |

Although I tried many, F/A-18 Interceptor is for me the best flight sim on Amiga!
And the only one so far I was able to play without getting crazy... |

It's Birds of Prey for me. While it was slow, the sound was awesome, and the amount of content was breathtaking: so many planes, so many missions...

I love Fighter Bomber most out of all of these but there are some very cool sims for Amiga. The feeling of height and just general scale in FB is more convincing than any of the other flying games on Amiga.Landing your plane in FB is still one of the more satisfying Amiga moments for me.FB is also more stable visually than other sims and doesn't have that wobble syndrome that Microprose games and something like Falcon has from their visuals.
F18 is more arcadey but still delivers a very cool game and makes it one of my faves - no suprise it's dominating this poll. B17 takes a lot of learning but is deeply satisfying (another Vektor game) Birds of Prey i like a lot There are loads other games like JU52 and MegaFortress that don't ever seem to get mentioned so i don't know how these are regarded.Anyone? |

F19 for me - could play that for days on end! Still do to some extent if I fire it up
F117A the one that came after wasn't as good I found. FA/18 was terrific for speed and just arsing about on |

F/A-18 wins overall for me
I used to watch my crappy VHS copy of Top Gun prior to playing it ehehe.. Gunship 2000 was great fun.. So was F-15 Strike Eagle II.. should be on the list? I used to marvel at the intro for Birds Of Prey, and it's massive arsenal of planes.. it was joy to see it running on WinUAE under JIT. F-16 Combat Pilot was quite ugly, but still rather realistic.. I used to read the game manual in yr 7 at school, whilst others were flicking through Where's Wally and the like lol.. the teacher thought I was crazy.. and he was right |

I loved Knights of the Sky - though it was often really difficult when there were dozens of planes in the sky. The feeling of 'personal' in-your-face-combat was great. I never did complete that game...hmm...where did I put WinUAE.....
Gunship 2000 - cos flying a helicopter is cool, and flying one through a tunnel is even cooler. B17 - it seemed not many people liked this, but I really loved the crew management aspects of the campaign. I have the sequel on PC but have never played it much really. Perhaps it just seems more of the same. The other flight sim I really played (though its not really a sim) is Combat Air Patrol. Supposedly your actions directly affected the outcome of the war, and there was this big rumour at the time that it was possible to find the vehicle Saddam Hussein was travelling it and send it sky high in smoke, thus winning the game. |

F19 Stealth Fighter, but where is F-15 Strike Eagle II? Blue Max on the C64 was cool.

I've flown a real FA/18 once. I circled a church and crashed it into a supermarket. I killed a cat that was walking past dixons. |
