Replacement keyboard PCB with Indivision Mk3

Hello.

My A1200 keyboard is playing up, and now I can't type an 'h', so it's time for one of those replacement PCBs and ribbon cables.

They look great and I've watched an installation video on Youtube. I'm worried though, as they come with a hard connector to the motherboard connection, and it looks a bit bulky. I have the Indivision Mk3 which puts a connection over the top of the Commodore chip which is RIGHT next to the keyboard connector. It actually overlaps a bit and so prevents the keyboard being removed while it is in place.

Are these two bits of hardware compatible? Has anyone got a replacement keyboard PCB and an Indivision Mk3 playing nice together?

Don't want to order the PCB and find it won't fit.

If they don't fit, then are there any alternatives? A total new keyboard is veeeeery expensive!

Can't find any info about this online, so perhaps just a normal membrane as a direct replacement is the way to go. I think it's the ribbon cable that's shot - the previous owner had it taped down to the underside of the keyboard as if it had been repaired previously.

If it is just the 'H' that is not working, then it might just be the plunger that needs cleaning/fixing. Have you opened up the keyboard to check/inspect it? You can also try swapping a plunger from a known working key and see if the issue moves with it or not.

Seconded. Try swapping plungers around first to see whether the problem moves. You can rejuvenate the dead plunger by wiping it with some office paper from your printer.

I have an Indivision MK3 and a 'hard' replacement PCB (https://sordan.ie/product/713/new-pr...0--1200-green/). Works fine, no problem.

Thanks for the advice guys - cheers cv643d - that's good to know.

Will try a big cleanup of everything first, and go with a hard membrane if it's still not happy.
