Persian Gulf Inferno - Installation problem
Hi guys, sorry for resurrecting this thread but I need some help with this game.
I did buy it and the disk I got has a cracked release "Pal Fixed" on it. I tried to install it with WHDLoad and I had to rename the disk from something like "PGI_blahblah_PAL_Fixed" to "PGI" because the installer checks the title of the disk and expects a floppy labelled "PGI". Unfortunately even if the install completed successfully the game doesn't start due to some error (the message says something like "a file is corrupted or it is an unsupported version"). So I did write the ipf file I found on the Internet on the original disk but this one isn't Amiga formatted and the floppy doesn't have any title so the installer doesn't work at all. Is there somewhere the original ipf file to make a floppy labelled "PGI" that works with the WHDLoad installer? Last edited by jurassicman; 01 June 2024 at 09:23. |

Thanks @TCD, I was actually wondering if it would have been better to open a new thread instead of resurrecting and old one...
I've just modified the beginning of the original post to reflect the thing. |

WHDLoad only support the Innerprise USA version.
I submitted a ticket a while back for Magic Bytes european version. http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=3255 [edit] FYI, the ipf in TOSEC unofficial IPFs is mistakenly tagged as Innerprise version. It's the euro NDOS version. Last edited by Retroplay; 01 June 2024 at 10:43. |

It would be great to have both, a WHDLoad installer that supports the NDOS version of the game and the ipf file made from the original PGI floppy. Unfortunately the game is quite rare to find, I've got the disk you can see here but, as I told, unfortunately there was written on it a cracked version... Any help would be much appreciated. |
