Problem with .rar files

Hi Toni,

Having some difficulty with adf files compressed in rar files.

Reproducible bug:
Using the TOSEC copy of Global Trash by The Silents
(Global Trash (1992)(Silents).rar - consisting of just a single .adf)

Selecting the .rar file results in a dialog box saying: "The selected floppy disk image is not bootable (boot block checksum error)".

Extracting the .adf file and selecting that instead boots fine.

This happens with any .rar file I try - I'll upload one to The Zone if you want but i suspect it can be reproduced by raring up any old adf file yourself.

WinUAE version was 1.3.3

Do you have unrar.dll or archiveaccess.dll? Check the log. Without RAR support rar files are mounted directly without any special handling.

That'll be it - i misread the news page and thought the rar support was builtin.

Rar support is not built-in. AFAIK there is no GPL compatible RAR unpacking routines.

Eh? Well, I think that makes no sense.
RARs with no unrar.dll/archiveaccess.dll present should rather cause a message box to appear like "You need unrar.dll [...] to support RAR" than being mounted directly.

What's the point in mounting RAR archives _at all_ if the required dynamic link library is not present?
